Our event, “The Cost of Not Knowing,” was held online on September 26, 2026.

Planned and hosted by our global internship team, the event drew a wide range of participants from every continent and region around the world, once again highlighting the strong interest in access to information.

During the event, we discussed the theme “The Cost of Not Knowing”—how obtaining accurate information is becoming increasingly important today—using real-world examples. Mr. Leopold Victor Sanca, a researcher in education, shared his personal experience writing a paper on evidence-based policy implementation in the education sector and governance, drawing on RuleWatcher data.

Coincidentally, September 28—just two days later—was the United Nations’ “International Day for Universal Access to Information,” making it a particularly timely occasion to emphasize the importance of access to information.

True to our vision, “Our World, Rules by Everybody,” we look forward to continuing to work toward a better society together with everyone we connected with through this event.
